Almost all sub brands from joint venture manufacturers are expected to become eventual homes to electric vehicles, but only Nissan have so far pushed out an EV. The Nissan Leaf was imported into China in very small volumes and handed over to government bodies for testing and review, none as far as we know made it into private hands. However that might change with the introduction of the Leaf as a Chinese made vehicle, albeit under the Venucia brand and as the 'Venucia C30′.
The Venucia sales network is being set up with Vencuia models being sold out of Nissan dealerships for the time being. The current Venucia line up consists of the older rebadged Tiida sedan and hatch range to bring small volume sales until the brand is strong enough to stand on its own with electric models such as the C30. The C30 measures in slightly longer than the Leaf, partly due to redesigned bumpers, the current length is 4488×1770×1550 (LxWxH) with the wheelbase reaching 2700mm.
We're not sure when the C30 will be made available to the car buying public, but perhaps we can expect it before the end of 2013.
