BMW AG said group sales of BMW and Mini vehicles in China last month jumped 62 percent year-on-year to 31,090 units.
For the first 11 months, the German automaker's sales in China have soared nearly 38 percent to 215,023 units.
Despite BMW's big gains, rival Audi AG remains China's top luxury brand. Last month, Audi sales jumped nearly 26 percent to 37,600 units, making it Audi's most successful sales month ever in the country.
The automaker said the increase in demand was driven mainly by the locally built Q5 and A6L models.
By contrast, Daimler-Benz has struggled to keep pace with BMW and Audi. In November, Mercedes-Benz sales fell 7 percent year-on-year to 16,876 units.
BMW is enjoying strong growth this year as it prepares for the transition to a new China chief. Christoph Stark will step down in February, to be replaced by Karsten Engel
